New York Discrimination in the Workplace Poster
The Discrimination in the Workplace is a New York equal opportunity law poster provided for businesses by the New York Department Of Labor. This notification is required for some employers, such as employers with four and more workers.
This is a state labor poster under the state division of human rights. It’s a must have post required of employers of four or more workers, employment agencies, labor organizations, apprenticeship training programs and for rental, lease, or sale of housing, land, and or commercial properties. It is a summary of the state Human Rights Law, which forbids discrimination by the above against prospective applicants, employees, tenants and prospective property buyers on the basis of color, race, gender, age, religion and or disability. It’s a summary of common discrimination in housing and employment practices that are outlawed by the law. In the poster are exemptions for which provisions of the law do not apply. It also details how and when to file claims depending on kind of discrimination. It’s a recommended posting required of the various employers, agencies, and property owners to be done at conspicuous places where the relevant persons can easily access.
