South Dakota Unemployment Posting Poster Mandatory
The Unemployment Posting is a South Dakota unemployment law poster provided for businesses by the South Dakota Department Of Labor and Regulation. This is a required poster for all South Dakota employers, and any business that fails to post this notification may be subject to penalties or fines.
This poster details the State of South Dakotas' standards for unemployment that are codified in State law. Specifically, employees in the State are covered under the South Dakota Unemployment Insurance Law. Under this law, employees who become unemployed or whose working hours are reduced to less than full time may be eligible for unemployment benefits provided they meet several criteria:
One, they are able to work should they be afforded the opportunity. Two, they are available for full-time work. Three, they meet eligibility requirements for employment in South Dakota (see South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation at http://dlr.sd.gov/ for more information on employment eligibility in the State of South Dakota). The poster goes on to declare that employees who to try to subvert the law by voluntarily being out of work or who find themselves absent work by their own misconduct may be denied benefits under the unemployment insurance law. Finally, the poster lists several State offices that citizens can contact should they find themselves unemployed, whether partially or totally, and need help.
